BIALL conference

June 12, 2007

Writing with my librarian cap on, I thought I should let readers know (warn them?) that I will be blogging about, and perhaps even from, the BIALL conference, which is taking place in Sheffield this Thursday to Saturday.

For those of you unfamiliar with the unfortunately-acronymed BIALL, it is the British and Irish Association of Law Librarians, and is the professional body for librarians in my line of work.

I am actually looking forward to the conference, since it will be my first, and apparently involves a great deal of socialising, eating and drinking on top of the professional awareness type stuff. It will also be my first visit to Sheffield, a city about which I have heard good things.

You do realise, as the new guy, you will have to be initiated?

    Take some extra underwear.

I was told not to take any underwear, actually!

Take Calvins then you can get away with all sorts.

Oooh, I shall look forward to what you have to say. I have to live vicariously through everyone else that’s going! 🙂

Thanks Seshat, first post coming soon!
