Junior Boys

February 21, 2007

Went to see the Junior Boys (Myspace page here) last night at Dingwalls in Camden. They are two bearded synth-bothering Canadians, who play melancholic electropop in the vein of a (more) discofied New Order with Stuart Murdoch on vocals.

It was a pretty good gig, and the sound was about as good as I have seen them achieve (despite their equipment cutting out completely at one point), having watched them a few times recently. A special mention must go to support act Bonde Do Rolo, a Rio baille funk crew who were very shouty and good. One good thing about Junior Boys gigs is that they always have good support- last time it was dubstep DJs.
